Sandy is gone and, like a rude child, has left much behind it to clean up.
My husband, our three cats and I were very lucky to suffer almost no damages: we never lost power (or the Internet!), we had little rain and Sandy was quickly gone (in 3-4 hours max).
My thoughts are with those who are left without power, flooded, sometimes facing sharks (!).
Here are also some pictures taken by the MTA.
The American spirit is amazing. Americans will not whine: they will take matters into their own hands, clean up their yards, pump up water, rebuild and go on with their lives. Usually, they’ll do this with humor. I love it. I am in awe in front of such resilience.
Oh and contrary to Danny (John Travolta), we are kind of happy that you left us, oh Sandy…

Glad to hear you are safe – take care!
Thanks :-)
So glad to hear you are safe! Such devastation is so sad, but you’re right, we’ll rebuild!
Thank you.
Very sad, indeed.
I was glad to read that you were fine too.
Good to hear that you fared well in Sandy’s wake — and here’s to hoping that rebuilding in the more devastated areas goes quickly and smoothly….
Indeed. Thank you for your message!
Good to hear you are safe and sound.
:-) Mandy
