This weekend in NYC: Super Duper Market.
In the words of the organizers:
A super-fun three-day pop-up super-store bringing the coolest food artisans and innovators under one roof.
Serious Eats NY also has an article on it.
I loved the idea and so decided to check it yesterday.
There’s a lot to taste and sample and I wanted to buy at least half of it ;-) But I stayed reasonable. Only tried some Finnish rye bread (very very good), some S’mores (The S’morgasm was, well just that, a delicious s’morgasm, and I still have to try the Salted Sailor) and some walnut shortbreads and chocolate sablés from Miette (they did come all the way from San Francisco for the event! So I had to show them some love… yeah like that was the reason and not their delicious cookies ;-).
The place was opening at 11 am yesterday and was already pretty crowded by noon. Also there is not too much room to go from one booth to another so forgive the bad quality pictures (not to mention the light). It’s worth going though, if only to discover all those artisans and the good food they’re making! You still have today until 4 pm to give it a try.
